Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a CA license, requiring at least 2-3 years of ER experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Epic charting system experience required
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA or ARC only)
- CPI, NIHSS, and TNCC preferred as additional certifications
- Minimum of 3 years of recent ER experience required for new grads (excluding residency time); 2 years required for experienced RNs
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in pediatric emergency care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Preferred experience with ortho trauma, burns, spinal cord injury, and neuro-trauma care
- Preferred experience with ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and continuous IV sedation
- Preferred experience with ICP monitoring and traumatic brain injury care
- Preferred experience with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
- Current Nursys license verification required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including respiratory infections, seizures, abdominal pain, and mental/behavioral health cases
- Responsible for identifying and reporting signs of neglect or abuse
- Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center with Level I and II Trauma capabilities
- Local candidates accepted at local rate; must reside within a 50-mile radius for travel rate eligibility
- Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
