Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an Illinois RN license and at least three years of relevant nursing experience
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- 13-week contract assignment
- Night shift schedule from 7:00PM-7:30AM
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- No block scheduling permitted
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
- 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with 13-hour call shifts and expectation to be onsite within one hour
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA)
- Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
- TNCC certification highly preferred
Additional Information
- Serves as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process to deliver care
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Implements and modifies plans of care based on continuous patient assessment and evolving needs
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
- Reports and corrects safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with staff, patients, and families to promote a healing environment
- Provides constructive feedback to peers to support professional development
- This is a high-risk department assignment within the Emergency Department
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO limited to a maximum of 7 total days during the 13-week contract
