Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule from 1:00PM-1:00AM
- 36 hours per week over 3 shifts of 12 hours each
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
- 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with call shifts lasting 13 hours and an expectation to be onsite within one hour
- 2-week nights rotation required of all travelers with no block scheduling
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- TNCC certification highly preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Emergency Department nursing experience required
Additional Information
- Serve as a professional caregiver responsible for a group of ED patients, applying the nursing process and current nursing trends
- Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Implement and modify nursing interventions and care plans based on ongoing patient assessment
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of nursing care within the Epic system
- Promote patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety hazards
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, patients, and families to support a healing environment
- Provide feedback to peers to support professional development within the unit
- This is a high-risk department assignment within the Emergency Department
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
- RTO may not exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
