Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2 years of experience and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• Work in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) of a hospital environment
• Provide perianesthesia care for a variety of surgical patients including general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, and neuro/spine cases
• Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio
• Schedule is 4x10 Day shifts, 9:00am-7:00pm, with Mondays off
• Uses Meditech Expanse EMR
• Floating within scope required if there is a facility need
• Call required, including one weekend per month plus 4 shifts per month
• Open to accommodating block schedules

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana state or compact) currently in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience strongly preferred
• Skills in airway assessment, intubation/extubation, chest tube management, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver pre- and post-operative care including patient assessment, medication administration, and discharge instructions
• Monitor patients using cardiac monitoring, arterial lines, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring as needed
• Support surgical specialties including cardiac, ortho/total joints, neuro/spine, and bariatrics
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced local rate within an 80-mile radius
• Pending state licenses are not accepted
• Call-outs are restricted if more than one week of RTO is requested
• Indicate holiday availability at the time of consideration
• Completion of required facility training modules needed prior to and during assignment
