Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and proficiency with ventilator management.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple ICU units within a teaching hospital including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity based on staffing and patient needs
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Required skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management experience
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across a variety of ICU settings based on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Skilled in managing patients requiring central line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and ventilator management
• Familiarity with cardiovascular care including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Neurological care experience including CVA/stroke management preferred
• Fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon signing contract due to Ohio state requirements
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel positions at this facility
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract prior to start, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
