Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Inpatient Overflow position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of relevant specialty experience.

Details

• Work in the Inpatient Overflow unit functioning as a rapid admission unit
• Care for general medical patients and surgical patients awaiting surgery
• Patient turnover is faster than a typical medical surgical unit
• Patient ratio of 5-6:1 for M/S RNs
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
• 3 shifts per week totaling 36 guaranteed hours weekly
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is not approved for most units

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty required
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments required
• Experience managing critical, fast-paced situations required
• Background in high-volume hospitals with diverse and severe cases required
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Certification card required for consideration
• Nursys license verification required for consideration
• Work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days required
