Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Medicine Specialty unit requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience along with at least one year of travel nursing experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Medicine Specialty Unit setting
- Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Day shift schedule
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Level 1 trauma center experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- BSN from a Board-approved program preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions and treatments
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitors physiological data and intervenes as necessary
- Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Makes referrals for patient care needs and delegates tasks to support staff
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Returning employees may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
- Candidates must be able to start within approximately 4 weeks of receiving an offer
