Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift contract requiring critical care and telemetry experience along with an active MA RN license.

Details

• Work in a 14-bed ICU unit
• Patient population includes medical cases such as ARDS, COPD, GI bleed, drug overdose, COVID, and alcohol withdrawal, with occasional post-surgical patients (carotids, VATS, CEAs)
• Care for ventilated patients on pressors with a-lines and chest tubes
• Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Unit serves as the code team and rapid response team
• Intensivist coverage during the day and NP coverage overnight
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• Cerner EMR experience is a plus but not required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medical and post-surgical ICU patients
• Respond as part of the code team and rapid response team
• Collaborate with intensivists during the day and NPs at night
• Only candidates with prior travel nursing experience will be considered
• Previous staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
