Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring SC or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Hospital ICU setting
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Weekend shifts required
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals if needed
- Epic charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line and central line management
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation
- Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Proficient in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and ETT/NT suctioning
- Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
- 2 supervisory references required
- Copy of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU environment
- Manage critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory monitoring
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary ICU care team
- Local candidates accepted at the local pay rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for the travel rate
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from employment for at least 5 years to be eligible as a traveler
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with no time-off requests during the first two weeks or full weeks off during the assignment
- Any time-off requests must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
- Some holiday coverage expected
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
