Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 3+ years of L&D experience and current AWHONN certification.

Details

• Work in a Labor & Delivery unit with 7 L&D beds and 14 Mother/Baby beds, plus a Level 2 NICU/Newborn Nursery
• Unit staffed with 6-8 RNs, 1 OB Tech, and 1 unit clerk per shift
• Patient ratios of 2:1 in L&D, 6-8:1 in Mother/Baby, and 1-4:1 in NICU depending on acuity
• Uses Alaris pumps, Corometrics 250 series Fetal Monitor, Monica monitor, and Ranger fluid warmer
• EMR systems include Meditech Expanse and CPN (Centricity Perinatal)
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Required to work every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights)

Requirements

• Active KY RN license or compact license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of hospital RN experience required
• Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required; 5+ years preferred
• Must be able to circulate for cesarean sections
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required
• Experience with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, induction of labor (Cook catheter, Cervidil, oxytocin), and IUFD management
• Skilled in IV insertion, lab draws, sterile vaginal exams, epidural assistance, and foley catheter placement
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care across L&D, Mother/Baby, and NICU/Nursery settings
• Facility provides scrubs for infant security purposes
• Team-oriented personality is ideal for this unit
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates will be considered
