Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2 years of acute medical Care Management experience and a CA RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
- Day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
- Patient ratio of 1:25 during day shift
- No floating expectation
- Typically requires working one full weekend every 4 weeks, subject to departmental need
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (pending license accepted if licensed by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of acute medical Care Manager experience performing Care Coordination and Discharge Planning
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered with additional screening
- Epic charting system experience required
- 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care development
- Adheres to regulatory guidelines including CMS, CPT coding, Department of Health, DRG, and HIPAA standards
- Experience across acute hospital specialties such as ICU, Medical-Surgical, and SDU/PCU/IMC/Observation units
- Business attire or scrubs are acceptable dress code
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply but will undergo additional screening
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests should be limited to no more than 7 days to avoid delays in the offer process
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
