Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ER experience.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Facility is a STEMI Certified Facility
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
- SANE certification preferred (can be completed onsite)
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in managing a wide range of ER presentations including pediatrics, abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and infections
- Experience with psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, intubation, and ABG interpretation
- Experience administering emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Neurological trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
- Trauma care skills including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation preferred
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Orthopedic skills including splint application preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

- Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions
- Responsible for identifying and reporting signs of neglect or abuse
- First-time travelers may be considered given the required 2+ years of ED experience
