Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ER experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Facility is a STEMI Certified Facility
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• SANE certification preferred (can be completed onsite)
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in managing a wide range of ER presentations including pediatrics, abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and infections
• Experience with psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, intubation, and ABG interpretation
• Experience administering emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Neurological trauma experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Trauma care skills including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation preferred
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Orthopedic skills including splint application preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions
• Responsible for identifying and reporting signs of neglect or abuse
• First-time travelers may be considered given the required 2+ years of ED experience
