Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license and 1 year of ER experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients in a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Approximately 135 visits per day with 20-26 rooms/beds and an average daily census of 105
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:00-6:00
- Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
- Float required to cover the Observation Unit (ER Hold patients) and may include floating to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Uses Epic charting system
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (ENPC preferred)
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Experience with a variety of ER patient presentations including trauma, cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs or Leads
- Must provide SSN and DOB for compliance purposes
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- RTO should not exceed 7 days
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Candidates may wear their own scrubs, provided there are no prints
- Travelers should be prepared to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
