Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active CA license and at least 1 year of ER experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients in a STEMI and Stroke certified facility
- 20 rooms/26 beds with an average daily census of 105 and approximately 135 visits per day
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
- Float required to the Observation Unit for ER Hold patients and to nearby sister facilities
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
- ENPC certification preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, may include Charge RNs/Leads
- Copies of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
- Manage patients with dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, and shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Perform triage and maintain isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- May wear own scrubs as long as they are solid-colored with no prints
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO limited to no more than 7 days
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- A 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidate consideration
