Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU night shift position requiring 2 years of Level III NICU experience and OK or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• 12-hour night shift schedule (3x12), 19:00-07:00
• Weekend requirement of 5 shifts per 6 weeks, scheduled by the facility
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Cares for neonates across a range of gestational ages, including <24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and >34 weeks
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Floating to other units or sister facilities within 75 miles may be required to meet facility needs
• No block scheduling accommodations available

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP/NALS, and STABLE
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and blood/blood product administration
• Experience with high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and nitric oxide (iNO) therapy
• Experience with neonatal dosage calculations, surfactant administration, and neonatal sepsis management
• Current, valid driver's license or state-issued ID required
• Utility bill in candidate's name with matching address, dated within the last three months, required for consideration
• Two supervisory references required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates including feeding support, phototherapy, and developmental care
• Perform patient and family teaching as part of daily responsibilities
• Manage neonatal abstinence syndrome and infectious disease concerns including sepsis work-up
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible to apply
• Maximum RTO of 5 days per 13-week assignment, with no holiday RTO accepted
• Former INTEGRIS employees must have a minimum of 1 year separation from the health system to be eligible
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Any gaps in work history of 3 months or more must be explained
• Orientation includes billable and non-billable training modules averaging 2-8 hours, varying by specialty
