Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry/Step-Down unit of a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• 13-week contract length
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (must match permanent residence for compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• EKG and cardiac drip management experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and telemetry care, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Manage respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula
• Care for cardiovascular patients including pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
