Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry/Step-Down unit of a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
- 13-week contract length
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (must match permanent residence for compact)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
- EKG and cardiac drip management experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring and telemetry care, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Perform IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Manage respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula
- Care for cardiovascular patients including pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
