Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) with 2+ years of critical care/ICU experience for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center.

Details

• Level III Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level II NICU facility with 167 beds
• Respiratory Therapy Services department caring for neonate to geriatric patients
• Patient population includes inpatient, ED, and ICU/critical care patients, including deliveries and open heart cases
• 12-hour night shift schedule starting at 1900
• 36 standard hours per week
• Weekend rotation required every third weekend
• Holiday coverage required for one summer and one winter holiday per contract
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Will float throughout the facility to various units, including the ER
• Uses EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Unit equipment includes Puritan Bennett and Hamilton ventilators

Requirements

• Active RRT or CRT license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• Experience with critical/ICU patients required
• Experience with ABG draws, ventilator weaning and extubation, and vent management required
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP management, and nebulizer treatments required
• Experience placing arterial lines and intubation preferred
• NICU experience, C-section assistance, and delivery assistance preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

• Work alongside RNs, Rapid Response/Code Team, other RRTs, and department leadership/supervisors
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 1-2 shifts in the department based on comfort level
• Scrubs must be any solid professional color with no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available in a designated area
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
