Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years' experience for a night shift position caring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients at a Hawaii medical center.

Details

• Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Therapy modality within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Night shift hours from 1830 to 0700
• Three 12-hour shifts weekly totaling 36 hours per week
• No guarantee of hours
• 15-week contract length
• Utilizes computerized charting and Pyxis medication management systems
• Equipment includes PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60, and Para Pac Transport Vent

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License required by start of assignment (license required if applicable)
• Active state license required
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• RRT certification preferred
• NRP certification preferred
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment required
• Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start

Additional Information

• Provide continuous airway management for patients
• Perform ventilator and non-invasive ventilator management and support
• Consult with physicians and participate in CPR and all aspects of respiratory care
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start for a scheduled appointment
• Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start date to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
• Flu vaccination can be administered during the employee health clearance appointment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
