Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular Technologist for a Cath Lab requiring ARRT or RCIS licensure and at least 1-2 years of Cath Lab experience depending on prior travel background.

Details

  • Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds
  • Cath Lab unit with 2 procedure rooms
  • Average of 8 cases per day
  • Cath Lab patient types include diagnostic/interventional LHC/RHC, NSTEMI and STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral diagnostic/intervention, and loop recorders
  • EP patient types include Micra, pacemakers, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes
  • EMR: Epic
  • IV pumps: Alaris
  • Medication dispensing: Pyxis
  • PACS: Picom
  • Hemodynamic monitoring system: Merge (experience preferred)
  • C-arm equipment: GE Alea (experience not required)
  • 10-hour day shifts, either 0600-1630 or 0700-1730 depending on call status
  • Rotating day off each week
  • Possible floating to a Cath Lab approximately 15 minutes away, up to once per week
  • Weekday call once per week (end of shift until 0700 the following morning)
  • Weekend call every 6th weekend (Friday end of shift until Monday 0700)
  • 30-minute call response time required
  • 3-person call team consisting of 2 techs and 1 RN
  • 1 holiday coverage per contract, call only

Requirements

  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • ARRT or RCIS license required
  • WA state license required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required for experienced travelers, 2+ years required for first-time travelers
  • Experience scrubbing and operating the table simultaneously
  • Monitoring experience preferred
  • COVID vaccine required

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will be considered with 2+ years of Cath Lab experience
  • Unit support includes a scheduler, charge nurse/lead tech, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, intensivists, on-call cardiologist, RRT/code team, and a transporter
  • Manager present on-site during the week
  • Lead tech creates the regular and call schedules
  • Orientation begins with a New Employee Orientation (NEO) day followed by department training
  • New travelers have the option of buddy call during the first week before taking call independently in week two
  • No sleep room available during call, but Admit/Recovery unit can be used if needed
  • RTO requests must be approved by the manager
  • Scrubs and lead aprons provided, with extended sizing available for scrubs only
  • Free garage parking available
  • Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills
