Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active MA RN license and prior ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Target patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required
• Every third weekend required, with a minimum of 4-5 weekends per assignment
• Meditech charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and arterial line management
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory suctioning
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing continuous IV sedation
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU patients across a range of complex medical conditions
• Unit orientation includes two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• Expect to work some holidays during the assignment
• Keep time off requests to a minimum, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Any time off must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates located within 30 miles of the facility are accepted at the same pay rate
