Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience and AWHONN certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit within the Women & Children's Center
• Care for pregnant and up to 6-week postpartum patients
• Focus on triage and labor checks
• Facility performs 300+ births per month
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating to any campus within the health system may be required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP, and BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS and AWHONN Advanced
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG competency exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include triaging obstetrical patients, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and managing labor and delivery care
• Duties include fetal monitoring, IUPC placement, sterile vaginal exams, and neonatal resuscitation support
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care and complex conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa is valued
• Skilled care for patients requiring magnesium sulfate, pitocin, and other specialized medication administration
• Postpartum care including cesarean recovery, hemorrhage management, and lactation support
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
