Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 1+ year of recent acute care telemetry experience and an active CO or compact RN license.
Details
- (2 South), an 18-bed hospital unit on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building
- Cares for a mix of trauma, orthopedic, and standard telemetry patients including chest pain, stroke work-ups, and chronic cardiac conditions such as CHF and Afib
- RN to patient ratio is 5:1
- Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, and 2 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse and 3-4 RNs
- Uses GE wireless telemetry boxes and Welch Allyn vital sign machines
- Documents in Meditech EMR
- Scheduled shift is 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care Telemetry RN experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Trauma or orthopedic experience preferred
- Neuro or stroke experience preferred
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Perform neurovascular checks on limbs and assist with frequent ambulation and repositioning
- Provide comprehensive pain control and manage orthopedic precautions
- Join a teamwork-focused unit with several staff members having over 10 years of experience
- Unit welcomes new staff and offers strong peer support
- Treats a wide variety of trauma and orthopedic injuries including blunt force trauma, poly trauma, SCIs, GSWs, stabbings, and TBIs
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not eligible
- Positive attitude and teamwork-oriented mindset are ideal personality fits for this unit
