Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and AWHONN, FHM, NRP, and BLS certifications.
Details
- Work in the Women & Children's Center Labor & Delivery unit, located on the 1st floor
- Care for pregnant and up to 6-week postpartum patients
- Perform triage and labor checks
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Floating to any Cone Health campus as needed
- Facility performs over 300 births per month
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP, and BLS
- Preferred certifications: ACLS and AWHONN Advanced
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (two attempts allowed)
- Current driver's license required to verify address
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and manage obstetric emergencies such as hemorrhage/shock
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and support fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and manage high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Provide postpartum care including fundus/lochia checks, wound care, and breastfeeding support
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
- Subject to floating across Cone Health facilities as needed
