Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Step Down (PCU) for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring 2 years of PCU/Med-Surg Telemetry acute care experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Assignment based in the Med Surg 7W unit within a hospital acute care setting
• 13-week contract with a 07:00-19:30 shift schedule
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Traveler will be placed on the unit of greatest need, either PCU or Med/Surg/Tele, based on skill set
• Will accept RNs with either Med-Surg or Stepdown (PCU) credentialing since requirements overlap
• Float required within skill set onsite or to sister facilities within 40 miles as needed
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry acute care experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Current AHA ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Must complete RN Step Down (PCU) specialty exam and skills validation

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a stepdown/telemetry or med-surg unit depending on facility need
• Must reside within the facility's designated radius rule area to be eligible for the standard travel rate; local candidates within the radius may be considered at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates should begin discussing extension opportunities with their manager approximately 45 days prior to the assignment end date
