Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring an IA or compact RN license, ACLS, and TNCC certification.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Room of a 217-bed regional health center offering ED, Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, and other specialty services
- 17-bed ER unit with a patient ratio of 1:6, averaging 40 visits per day
- Patient population is mainly adults and geriatrics
- Uses MediTech EHR
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment
- Works every other weekend
- Call coverage required to support daily volume 24/7
Requirements
- Active RN license (IA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and TNCC
- 1-2 years of experience in an acute care facility required
- Iowa SING background check required, including both criminal and child abuse portions, with no exceptions
- All background checks (county and state level) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide-only searches not accepted
- Mandatory reporter certification required (Child and Adult)
- 10-panel drug screening required, including opiates
- Titers required within the last 12 months for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a mix of adult and geriatric patients in a busy regional ER
- Monday or Tuesday start dates accepted
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
- Located in Ottumwa, IA, known for its river trails and low cost of living
