Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a AZ or compact RN license.

Details

• Float between the Emergency Department and CDU (Observation Unit)
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule (3x12 Hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• ESI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and trauma level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Skilled in splinting and orthopedic trauma care
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency presentations including asthma, seizures, head injury, and psychiatric emergencies

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Orientation held every Monday
• Holiday coverage required
• First-time travelers are welcome if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
• Travel pairs are accepted
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
