Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel experience with Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Work in a general Medical Surgical unit
• Care for a mostly geriatric patient population with varying diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in feeding tube care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy/phlebotomy required
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including respiratory support, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergency situations
• Manage peripheral line care and IV starts and maintenance
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Full compliance required to start on time, as delays may result in a 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
