Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/Pediatric Critical Care position requiring 2-3 years of experience with at least 1 year in PICU or Pediatric CVICU.
Details
- Work in the NICU and Pediatric Critical Care unit at a children's hospital
- Neonatal and pediatric patient population
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) or Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
- 36 hours per week with 3x12 shifts (4x12 shifts not offered)
- Every other weekend required
- 50/50 day/night rotation based on department needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, high frequency jet ventilator, and high frequency oscillator
- Neonatal/pediatric equipment includes Bubble CPAP, Oscillating Ventilator, and Pressure/Volume Ventilator
- Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Provides tracheostomy care and management
- Administers Nitric Oxide (iNO)
- Interprets Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Requirements
- RRT credential required (CRT not accepted)
- MA license required if applicable; pending license accepted
- BLS certification required
- PALS certification preferred
- 2-3 years of experience required, with at least 1 year in PICU or Pediatric CVICU
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- First-time travelers considered; no prior travel experience required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric critical care patients
- Work as part of a pediatric critical care team
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
