Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist with 5+ years of independent experience in General/OB/AB ultrasound to work at a community hospital and outpatient center in Easton, MD.

Details

  • Community hospital and outpatient diagnostic imaging center setting
  • Preferred Trauma Level I experience
  • Adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Specializes in General, OB/GYN, and Abdominal ultrasound procedures, with breast certification and/or experience preferred
  • Utilizes GE ultrasound equipment
  • Charting completed in Epic
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • No weekend shifts required
  • On-call coverage required as needed for other technologists
  • Floating required between hospital and outpatient center locations, approximately 1 mile apart

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience required, with the ability to work independently without radiologist supervision
  • BLS certification required
  • ARDMS, ARDMS AB, and ARDMS OB/GYN certifications required
  • ARDMS BR certification preferred
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Strong OB/GYN skills required, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester scanning, fetal anatomical survey, umbilical cord doppler, and related obstetric procedures
  • Experience with general ultrasound procedures including abdominal aorta, biliary tract, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and spleen
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • Perform ultrasound procedures across OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, and vascular studies
  • Support Emergency Department, ICU, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Obstetrics units
  • Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope without restrictions
  • First-time travelers may be considered given required travel experience
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month break before returning as a traveler
  • Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the health system before reassignment
  • Maximum RTO request of 7 days, with additional week required on back end of new contracts if more than 4 consecutive days are requested
  • One major holiday off during the winter season may be permitted depending on unit needs

Pros

This unit is a tight group. Very traveler friendly. A middle of the road lab. Attendings are great once you get to know them. The facility functions very well. Plenty of attractions within 30 minute drive.

Cons

Housing is a problem. This is a location of old money. They try to get as much as they can out of you. Not much to do being you are in the middle of corn and soy country.
