Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Transplant ICU night shift position requiring Level I trauma experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Neuro Transplant ICU of a hospital environment
- 13-week assignment on night shift
- Schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of ICU patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing for changes and intervening as necessary
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and requires all onboarding documentation to be completed promptly with no push starts allowed
- Returning travelers may extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
