Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Illinois RN licensure and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• 13-week contract assignment
• Day shift schedule: 7:00AM-7:30PM, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation to be onsite within one hour
• 2-week nights rotation required for all travelers
• No block scheduling available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
• Must be willing to float as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all American Heart Association)
• TNCC certification highly preferred
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including initial assessments, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to develop and modify individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
• Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety
• Offer constructive feedback to peers to support professional development
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Prior travelers may not have been on continuous assignment with this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service
