Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring EPIC experience and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
• 13-week contract assignment
• Day shift schedule from 11:00AM-11:30PM, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Requires 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, with expectation to be onsite within one hour of call
• Requires a 2-week nights rotation for all travelers
• No block scheduling available
• Works every other weekend
• Rotating holiday shift coverage required
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Trauma Level 2 or higher facility preferred

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA)
• TNCC certification highly preferred
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Serve as the primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, applying the nursing process across assessment, planning, and evaluation
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
• Implement and modify care plans based on continuous patient evaluation
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient documentation to support care coordination across the healthcare team
• Uphold patient and staff safety standards, reporting and correcting hazards as needed
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, patients, and families to foster a healthy work environment
• Contribute to peer development through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing
• This is a designated high-risk department assignment
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 total days within the 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system without either converting to permanent staff or taking a 6-month break in service before returning
