Description

American Traveler is hiring an MICU RN for a Level III Trauma Center's 20-bed ICU, requiring 2+ years of continuous MICU experience and active MA RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III Trauma Center
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• Night shift schedule (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with every other weekend required
• Night shift does not rotate; day positions may rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
• Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• 36 or 48-hour weekly options available
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of continuous Adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
• Telemetry competency required, including ability to read tele strips
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to a wide range of adult ICU patients with high acuity conditions
• Floating to Med/Surg units required as needed, with patient loads up to 4-5 patients
• Free on-site parking available
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Boston are accepted at a reduced rate compared to standard travel rate
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
