Description
American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level II & III unit requiring 2 years of experience and NRP Advanced certification.
Details
- Work in a Level II & III NICU unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- On-call responsibilities include late stay if needed
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (South Carolina or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and NRP Advanced
- STABLE certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, though 1 year of experience may be considered case by case
- Epic charting system experience preferred but not required
- Experience with conscious sedation and ventilator management preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients requiring Level II & III NICU support
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted during the application process, as requests made afterward will not be considered
- Pass/fail testing is required during orientation, including a Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test for all units and a Moderate Sedation Test for OR, ICU, and Endo units
- Travelers have only one opportunity to pass required orientation testing
- An attendance policy applies, and missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review or cancellation
- Former permanent staff of this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
