Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring OH or compact RN licensure and prior ICU experience.
Details
- Teaching hospital setting within a Critical Care Float Pool
- Floats to a variety of ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
- Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM) with weekend requirements plus one weekday shift
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Required skills: IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management experience
- Additional critical care skills needed include arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties based on unit needs and patient acuity
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of the hospital system are ineligible to be hired as travelers at any location within the system
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines
