Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT/Rad Tech for a solo CT/X-ray role in a new freestanding ED, requiring 2+ years of CT experience and comfort working independently.
Details
- Work in a new freestanding emergency department with 9 ED rooms, 2 inpatient hold rooms, 1 CT room, and 1 X-ray room
- Patient population spans pediatrics through geriatrics
- See walk-in ED patients as well as scheduled outpatient CT and X-ray scans (ambulances not currently accepted)
- Perform extremity, spine, abdomen, and general CT and X-ray scans
- No neuro, cardiac, or special procedures; stroke patients are transferred out quickly
- Uses Epic EMR and Sectra PACS
- Equipment includes Siemens CT (Go Excite Software) and Care Stream X-ray (portable experience preferred)
- Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week, Friday-Sunday from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
- No on-call requirements
- CT assistant support available 7:00 AM-4:30 PM, with ED supervisor and Imaging Manager available on-site or by phone
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience required
- Recent X-ray experience preferred; extended gaps may require manager approval
- BLS and ARRT-CT certification required
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology school
- License required if applicable
- Must be comfortable performing both CT and X-ray duties independently as the solo tech on shift
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered as long as they are comfortable working independently
- Facility orientation includes NEO plus 36-40 hours once on site
- Holiday coverage expectation is 50% of holidays within the contract
- RTO requests are subject to manager approval
- Scheduling is typically set a few months in advance
- Black scrubs required
- Free parking available
- Facility is known for being traveler-friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
- 100-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
