Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NM or compact RN license and 2 years of ER experience.

- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients in a Level I/II Trauma Center
- Epic charting system preferred
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 18:30-7:00
- ,
- Option of shift schedule with36direct off between full-time and part-time hours
- Requires at least 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
- Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs with brief unit orientation provided
Requirements
- Nactive RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
- Preferred experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings
- Preferred previous charge nurse experience
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring preferred
- Experience with neurological trauma cases (CVA, ICP monitoring, TBI, spinal cord injury) preferred
- Experience with pediatric trauma cases (head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury) preferred
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols
- Ortho trauma experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
- Work within a facility that includes STEMI and Stroke certification
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
- Up to 3-4 days of RTO can be auto-approved, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Onsite orientation includes completion of required training modules
