Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and teaching hospital background.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12, including weekdays and weekends
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Non-billable Cerner modules required prior to start, averaging 8 hours to complete
• Unit cannot guarantee schedule requests but will try to accommodate travelers
• No scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS through AHA
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Travel experience not required
• Skills needed may include GI care, respiratory management, IV therapy, neuro/psych care, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and renal management depending on assignment needs

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit including GI, respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and renal patient populations as needed
• Facility permits only 2-3 call-offs per contract due to attendance concerns
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
• Previous license probationary actions reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Orientation held every other Monday
• Possible contract extension available
