Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit position requiring telemetry and step-down experience with an active NH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 23-bed Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit on the 4th floor of the Main building
• Care for step-down and neuro trauma patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Unit staffed with 6-7 RNs and 2 aides per shift on both day and night shifts
• Uses bedside monitors, end tidal CO2 monitoring, high flow oxygen, chronic vents, and subdural drains
• Performs procedures including chest tubes and EEGs
• Meditech EMR used
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required with no on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to all inpatient units including ICU and ED
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience required
• Telemetry and step-down experience required
• Neuro and trauma experience preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to neuro trauma and step-down patients on a progressive care unit
• Team-oriented personality preferred to fit unit culture
• No specific scrub color required, professional attire expected
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• Previous employees may be subject to additional review based on employment history
