Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for Labor and Delivery requiring an active AK RN license and 1 year of L&D experience with AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery Recovery Postpartum (LDRP) unit of a hospital environment
- 7-bed unit staffed with a minimum of 3 team members per shift, including 2 RNs and 1 OB Surgical Tech
- Follows AWHONN acuity-based staffing ratios
- Cares for laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients including inductions, vaginal deliveries, c-sections, tubal ligations, labor triage, D&C, vaginal repair, NST, IUFD, steroid injections, and external cephalic version
- Uses GE Centricity Perinatal equipment and Epic EMR
- 13-week assignment on a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Scheduled as needed to fill unit needs including weekends
- Call is available but not required
- May float to PCT (Patient Care Tech) role during low census periods
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Labor triage experience required
- OR circulator experience required, including C-section, tubal ligation, D&C, and vaginal repair
- Newborn resuscitation experience required for attending low-risk deliveries
- IUPC/FSE placement experience preferred
- Experience assisting with JADA/COOKS/BAKRI placement preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages
- Unit supports a Level 2 NICU for newborns greater than 32 weeks gestation and over 1500g
- Team-oriented environment seeking flexible, accountable, and driven candidates
- Scrubs are provided in royal blue color
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this position
