Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active OH state license.

Details

• Work within a Respiratory Therapy unit at a teaching hospital
• Adult critical care and emergency department patient population
• Uses GE ventilators
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend work required
• Floating between campuses may be required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• High School Diploma and College Diploma/transcripts required from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Active Ohio state license required at time of submission
• License required if applicable
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
• Experience with airway management devices including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, and suctioning
• Experience with tracheostomy care and management
• Experience with medication delivery systems including MDI, aerosol setups, and nebulizers
• Experience administering a range of respiratory medications
• Experience with oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula and trach collar
• Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references are not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care services to adult critical care and emergency department patients
• Complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• First-time travelers may be considered as previous travel experience is not required
