Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active OH state license.
Details
- Work within a Respiratory Therapy unit at a teaching hospital
- Adult critical care and emergency department patient population
- Uses GE ventilators
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend work required
- Floating between campuses may be required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- High School Diploma and College Diploma/transcripts required from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Active Ohio state license required at time of submission
- License required if applicable
- Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Experience with airway management devices including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, and suctioning
- Experience with tracheostomy care and management
- Experience with medication delivery systems including MDI, aerosol setups, and nebulizers
- Experience administering a range of respiratory medications
- Experience with oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula and trach collar
- Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references are not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to adult critical care and emergency department patients
- Complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- First-time travelers may be considered as previous travel experience is not required
