Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for an outpatient X-ray and urgent care setting, requiring a MA Radiologic Technologist license.
Details
- Outpatient X-ray and Urgent Care setting
- Assigned to one designated radiography area (Inpatient, Outpatient, or Emergency Room) but may cover alternate locations or MGB sites as needed with appropriate training
- 4x10 hour shifts, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM
- 13-week assignment
- Uses fluoroscopic, portable, diagnostic, and other radiographic imaging equipment
- Utilizes Epic for charting and PACS for image transmission
Requirements
- Certificate/Diploma in Radiography required; Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred
- Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist and Technician license required, if applicable
- ARRT registration preferred
- 0-1 year of experience in radiology technology preferred
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Board eligible through the American Board of Radiology
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, radiation physics, and ALARA principles
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English
Additional Information
- Confirm patient identity and exam details through patient interview, history, and medical records
- Explain exam procedures to patients considering individual physical, emotional, and language needs
- Adjust equipment settings to safely image patients according to department protocol
- Ensure exams are correctly labeled and successfully transmitted to PACS
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and infection control situations
- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate flexibility to meet department operational needs
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
- Local candidates accepted with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Boston, MA subject to adjusted rate
