Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a compact or PA RN license, BSN, and 2 years of specialty experience.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1-2 patients per nurse
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• No floating required
• Weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend, Friday/Saturday nights
• No on-call responsibilities
• Holiday coverage required for at least 1 of the following: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
• Epic charting system used
• Block scheduling may be considered

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or PA state license) required
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
• AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate certification required (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred due to high acuity and fast-paced unit
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with high-risk antepartum and delivery management preferred
• Skills in fetal monitoring, EFM, and IUPC placement preferred
• PA fingerprints (Childline and FBI clearance) required within 12 months of start date
• Valid references and certification copies required for consideration
• Pass/Fail clinical exam required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Manage medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and resuscitation
• Care for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and multiple gestation
• Scrubs are provided
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this fast-paced, high-acuity unit
