Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with critical care/ED background and EPIC proficiency for a full-service cardiovascular program including electrophysiology services.
Details
- Work in a full-service cardiovascular program including Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), and Cath Holding departments
- Perform minimally invasive cardiac procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations
- Schedule includes 5x8 and 4x10 shifts with varying start times between 7a-7p
- Rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call required, approximately 10-14 days per month
- May be assigned to other cardiovascular departments including Electrophysiology, Cath, or Cath Holding
- Longer assignment through January 9, 2027 available but not required
- Must work two of the three winter holidays
Requirements
- Active VA RN license or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Critical Care (ICU), Cardiac Care (CC), or Emergency Department (ED) experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EPIC EMR proficiency required with no exceptions
- Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, left/right heart catheterization, IABP placement, Impella insertion, and vascular closure systems
- Experience with procedural sedation monitoring, cardioversion, and EKG/ECG interpretation
- No prior license or background hits accepted
- Cannot accommodate PAPR fit testing; any history of fit test issues will eliminate candidacy
- Must pass EKG/telemetry competency test with 80% or higher score prior to starting
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrub duties for cardiac cath lab and EP procedures
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and emergency medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and vasopressors
- Utilize equipment such as ACT monitoring, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and external compression devices
- 3 hours of pre-start orientation modules required, billable
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Required time off must be submitted and will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis
- Located in Coastal Virginia near Virginia Beach and Norfolk, offering access to hiking trails and waterways
