Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN requiring 2+ years of Cath Lab experience along with Critical Care, Cardiac Care, or ED background and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a full-service cardiovascular Cath Lab program including electrophysiology services
• May be assigned to other CV departments including Electrophysiology, Cath, or Cath Holding
• Perform minimally invasive cardiac procedures
• Schedule includes 5x8 and 4x10 shifts with varying start times between 7am-7pm
• Rotating weekday, weekend, and holiday call required, approximately 10-14 days per month
• Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Critical Care (ICU), Cardiac Care (CC), or Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• No prior license or background hits accepted
• Must be able to pass EKG rhythm interpretation test at 80% or higher with no remediation available
• Skilled in Cardiac Cath Lab procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, IABP placement, and vascular closure systems
• Experience with EP procedures including cardioversion and pacemaker insertion preferred
• Current NURSYS report required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, PCI, IABP placement, and Impella insertion
• Assist with EP procedures including pacemaker insertion and cardioversion
• Utilize skills in ACT monitoring, sheath removal, and vascular closure systems
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and various cardiac medications
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Cannot accommodate PAPR fit testing; any history of fit test issues will eliminate candidacy
• 3 hours of billable modules required to be completed prior to start
• Requested time off must be submitted for review and approval on a per-case basis
• Located in Coastal Virginia near Virginia Beach and Norfolk, offering access to hiking trails and waterways
