Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D/OB/Mother-Baby experience and Michigan licensure.
Details
- Work in a 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
- Provide antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nursing, newborn care at delivery, and couplet care
- Perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens
- Follow AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Assignment length up to 26 weeks
- Required to work every other weekend
- Float to all areas of LDRP and may serve as a sitter for the house
- May float to a facility 27 miles away when census allows
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and either AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in OB, Mother/Baby, and L&D required
- Required skills: circulating and FHM triage
- Scrub nursing skills preferred
- Proof of flu vaccination required for consideration
Additional Information
- Will be trained to perform newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine
- Scrubs provided
- Holiday coverage required; RTO during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the contract
- RTO limited to no more than 10 days
- Travelers are given priority for floating assignments
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
- Previous Bronson travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
