Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and Epic experience.
Details
- Acute Hospital setting within the Case Management/Utilization Review department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, with shift times ranging between 0700-1630
- Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals within the region
- Uses Epic charting system
- 407 staffed beds
- Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated facility recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
Requirements
- Active AK RN license in hand required
- BLS certification required
- ACM-RN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Acute Care experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Community Hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, continued stay reviews, determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care management
- May also involve pre-certification review, prior authorizations, and utilization of InterQual and Milliman guidelines
- Worker's compensation case management may be included
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Free parking available
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
- Only one time off request of 5 days or less allowed per 13-week assignment, with no holiday time off
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccination records; titers or declinations not accepted
- Former Providence permanent staff must be separated from the organization for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Travelers are limited to a maximum of 1 calendar year in this assignment, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to the same facility
