Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring Trauma 2+ experience and Illinois RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
• Night shift schedule from 1:00PM-1:00AM
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with expectation to be onsite within an hour of being called
• 2-week nights rotation required of all travelers
• No block scheduling available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• TNCC certification preferred

Additional Information

• Serve as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
• Modify care plans based on continuous patient assessment and evolving needs
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation for care coordination
• Take responsibility for patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families to promote a healing environment
• Provide constructive feedback to peers to support professional development
• This is a high-risk department assignment
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Workers may not remain continuously on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
