Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a CA RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Tele (MS/Tele) unit of a hospital environment
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float to other units within scope of practice, including other campuses (Ashby or Herrick) depending on census, with a shuttle provided and approximately 1.5 hours notice
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oral suctioning
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Serve as the patient's primary nurse, managing overall nursing care from admission to discharge
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, hygiene, and perform disease prevention and restorative care
- Respond to medical and environmental emergencies as needed
- Holiday coverage required for one designated holiday per contract (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas)
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved
- Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- Re-orientation only required if previously oriented at this facility and separated for 6+ months
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
- Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning to this facility
