Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN - Home Health for a day shift position requiring 2 years of home health experience and a ME or compact RN license.
Details
- Home Health setting caring for adult med surg, oncology, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, wound care, GI, and GU patients
- Case manages 20-25 patients with an expectation of 5-6 visits per day
- May serve as a re-visitor if agency needs change during the contract
- Day shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekend schedule may include an every-other-weekend rotation with a weekday off, a permanent Tuesday-Saturday schedule, or a permanent Sunday-Thursday schedule based on agency needs
- No overnight call, but call back required 2-4 times per month between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM
- Notification of any extra visit needed will be given by 5:00 PM that day
- Float policy of 25 miles between facilities as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Assigned agency laptop, iPhone, nursing supply bin, nursing bag with vital signs equipment, and an INR machine, all to be returned at contract completion
Requirements
- Active RN license (ME or compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including home health experience
- Epic and OASIS experience required
- Preferred experience with IV therapy, tube feeds, VAC dressings, compression wraps, port access, ostomies, chest tubes, S/P catheters, and lab draws
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include home visits, case management, and documentation for a diverse adult patient population
- Candidates should be organized, collaborative, and skilled in time management and documentation
- Open to feedback for improving practice and workflow is valued
- Dress code is business casual or scrubs of any color; jeans, open-toed shoes, and clothing with holes are not permitted
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local, with local bill rates applying
- Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at the manager's discretion
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should note this during consideration
